Former President Donald Trump of the Republican Party declared victory in the U.S. Presidential Election, foreign media said. As per exit polls announced so far, Trump is expected to win the crucial swing states of Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, as well as the 2nd and 3rd largest states of Texas and Florida.

The U.S. is the world’s second-largest democracy in terms of number of voters, with its 240 million registered voters being second to India’s 968 million. In the last presidential election in 2020, 65.9% of registered voters cast their ballots.

The latest polls prior to the election showed a close battle between the Democratic Party candidate Vice President Kamala Harris and the Republican Party candidate former President Donald Trump.
