Chief Inspector A.A. Apsara Krishanthi Abeysekera has been appointed as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Pindeniya Police Station in the Kegalle District as part of the recent transfers implemented by the National Police Commission.
Abeysekera joined the police service as a Sub-Inspector in 1996 and has held various positions since then. In 2020, she was assigned to the Kegalle District Criminal Investigation Unit, where she served until her recent promotion.
She is the fourth female police station OIC in Sri Lanka.
Abeysekera is a mother of two children. Her husband, Chief Inspector Elmo Malcolm Peit, serves as the OIC of the Katunayake Airport Police.
