The Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries announced a substantial investment of 20.6 billion rupees in upcoming months to enhance rural development and elevate living standards for citizens.

Minister Mahinda Amaraweera emphasized that the government is commited to implementing a range of projects to achieve these goals.

As part of this effort, officials have been directed to establish new agricultural projects wherever feasible.

The minister underscored that these agricultural initiatives should focus on three key objectives:

1. Income Enhancement: By supporting farmers in rural areas, the projects aim to raise their income levels.

2. Infrastructure Development: Investments will be channeled into improving essential infrastructure within villages.

3. Technology Adoption: The projects will also explore innovative agricultural technologies to boost productivity.

Minister Amaraweera made these statements during a recent discussion at the Ministry of Agriculture and Plantation Industries.
