Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, currently in the United States, congratulated Anura Kumara Dissanayake on X following his victory in the Sri Lankan presidential elections. Modi emphasized that Sri Lanka is integral to India’s Neighbourhood First Policy and Vision SAGAR, expressing eagerness to strengthen cooperation between the two countries for the benefit of their peoples and the region.

Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha met with Dissanayake in person to convey greetings from India’s leadership and congratulate him on his electoral success.
