I couldn’t cope with looking in the mirror. As soon as I drank, I became a different person. That, to me, was freedom – but it later became prison. Robin Williams abused cocaine and alcohol throughout the 1980s. Williams credits the overdose of John Belushi as the ‘wake up’ call he needed to get help with his own addiction. The Michael Palmer, MD Medical Student Health Lecture Series
After a few e-mails and phone conversations, we arrived in Santa Ana on the afternoon of the 15th. We met with our that afternoon, that evening and had the procedure done the following evening. The surgery itself is very straight forward, probably a half hour total, and painless with local . I couldn’t have imagined a better program…and this was before I met the people at Start Fresh and realized that my small amount of hope was in fact a reality. Every single person there is so very kind, comforting, positive, supportive, sincere, understanding…to say they are wonderful is a vast understatement. This was exactly what I needed to stay alive and believe in myself once again. I had endured enough horrific events in my life during very recent years that left me unquestionably hopeless and completely despondent. Every conscious moment was filled with overwhelming stress, anxiety and depression. I was drinking well over a 750ml bottle of hard liquor daily.
I couldn’t seem to find peace and rest in sobriety in all my attempts before. I didn’t realize the amount of time it takes for my brain to heal so I could actually concentrate on myself for once without the white knuckling feeling of trying to stay clean. This is where I begin to tell you how the BioCorRx program that sober success stories followed up with the long-term recovery tools began to dramatically and rapidly change my life. I heard about the implant and I realized when have I ever been able to stay clean for a year? Not only that but give myself the opportunity to find out to work on myself and who I am without the addiction in my life.

In the 1970s, his alcoholism was so severe that he suffered a mild heart attack while filming “Apocalypse Now.” However, he has been in recovery since 1981. This followed a series of talks with film director Terrence Malick in Paris. He’s now an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and he truly is the embodiment of the sober lifestyle. Sheen attributes his success in sobriety to AA and his Catholicism. For this reason, we’ve chosen to report on celebrity ‘success stories’. We are frankly bored of reading about stories where celebrities hit ‘rock bottom’.
I noticed that day that I was walking under pink clouds. I had been focused on the ground ~ rattlesnakes are real and some focus on the path in front of me is always necessary ~ but I had stopped to look around and take in the clouds. That is Statement 11 in a nutshell for me… noticing the joy. I am enjoying every moment of my goodness because I have worked HARD to create this reality.
Severe cravings and I didn’t understand why it kept getting worse. There wasn’t one day where the focus on working my program outweighed the feelings of wanting to use. The urge to use was stronger then everything I did and tried whole-heartedly in my 4 in-patient stays. Nothing seemed to work no matter what I tried. 4 years of attempts ended with 4 years of failures.
- My wife has given me so much support and has held it all together.
- The solution I had found to deal with life had failed me.
- If your goals are not consistent with these principles do not consider Real Recovery as an option.

I left out so many details that you wouldn’t believe they were true if I told you. But even then, when you think you’ve reached that place of no return… when there is still life, there is hope. I know longer view myself the way I did for 16 years. I have fought the war and made it to this point. I could not have done it without the help of I Got Sober and their Bio-Cor Rx program. Why do many celebrities develop an addiction?
She says she finds huge therapeutic value in sharing stories with other people in the same situation. My relationship with my wife, both emotionally and physically, was absent. I was unable to participate in any kind of family activity, especially if it interfered with my drinking. My family would watch TV in one room and I would be in another drinking to oblivion. If I watched a movie with the family, it was unlikely I would remember any details of the movie the following morning. I began a friendship with another woman during this time. We talked about our discontent with our marriages, among other things. Soon we were flirting and going to lunch together.
